Log-in Access
You can log in to the Star Assessments from any computer or tablet with an internet connection and compatible browser. For a list of compatible browsers, type the following in any browser
The tests are computer adaptive, which means the test is not tied to grade level and will adjust based on how the student answers. Correct answers will bring more difficult questions- wrong answers will bring easier questions. Your student WILL see questions that are beyond their current knowledge level. Do not help your student on their test as that will affect their score.
Student Log-in Info
To log-in to the Star Assessment testing portal, please go to
The first time you log-in you will choose login as a student.
Then, you will need a Renaissance identifier prior to entering the username and password.

After you enter the Renaissance ID, you will need your login credentials.

Which Test Should Be Taken?
If your child is in 2nd grade or higher, have them take STAR Math and STAR Reading. Kinder and 1st grade independent readers can also take Reading and Math.
If your child is in Kinder or 1st grade, and not reading independently, have them take STAR Early Literacy.

At a minimum, your child should be tested at least once for end of year purposes.
We will automatically send you two PDF reports 1-2 business days after your child takes an assessment.
If you would like a simple report within 20 minutes of your child finishing, click on the For Parents and Guardians button at the bottom of the student home page to receive the family report BEFORE your child tests for the first time. You need to do this for each child. You will need to verify your email and choose the assessments for which you want to receive reports-- choose all the options.
Reimbursement Information
If you are a recipient of the PEP Scholarship, you can submit the document you received upon ordering for reimbursement as it contains the name of the test and your child’s name. The guidelines for testing only state that you need the name of the test. You should not need to provide credentials for a teacher since the test’s owner (Renaissance) allows parents to administer it. You can use the attached image as proof of this.
End of Year Testing
Step up has said you need to have tests by May 31, 2026. You are in charge of your student’s educational experience so you can decide when to have your official end of year assessment.
Your student can take the test as many times as you want before July 31, 2026, This is helpful if you wish to see improvement and help guide curriculum levels for next year.

Our school has a platform provided by Renaissance, but are operating independently from the company. They will be unable to help you and will refer you back to us. Please call us! We will be able to help you and want to offer any assistance you need!
